Error: Speedify is not running

If the Speedify user interface shows the message "Speedify is not running," this means that the Speedify UI is not able to communicate with the Speedify background/daemon process. This problem can occur for a few different reasons:

  1. The Speedify background process did not start or is crashing
  2. Something is blocking the communication between the UI and background process

Android

  • Check proxy settings. Proxy settings on Android can prevent the Speedify UI from making the local connection to the Speedify background process. To adjust the proxy settings:
  1. Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi
  2. Long press on the network with the proxy settings and select Modify network config
  3. Check Show advanced options to reveal the proxy settings
  4. In the "Bypass proxy for" field enter: localhost
  5. Close and restart the Speedify app
  • If you are not using a proxy, the Speedify app might be crashing. Go to the Help ("?") menu at the top right of the Dashboard, and select Generate Logs. This will generate a zip file and launch your default email app so that you can forward your issue to our Support team.

iOS

  • Try closing and restarting the app
  • The Speedify app might be crashing.
